Dr. Naveed Ahmed is currently serving at Sri Jayadeva Institute of Cardiovascular Sciences and Research, Bangalore in the post of Assistant Professor at the Department of Cardiology.

Dr. Ahmed was awarded the MD (Medicine) degree on successful completion of the 3 years training in General Medicine from Govt. Medical College, Nagpur. In 2011, he received the DM (Cardiology) award from King George’s Medical University, Lucknow based on his academic success and submission of thesis. Post DM training, Dr. Ahmed became proficient in the management of patients admitted for ischemic syndromes, heart failure, endocarditis, hypertension and was efficiently able to perform procedures such as temporary pacing, intubation, defibrillation and invasive pressure monitoring.

For a brief period he worked as an Assistant Professor, Dept. of Medicine at S S Institute of Medical Sciences, Davangere from July 2007 to June 2008 before opting for a post at Sri Jayadeva Institute of Cardiovascular Sciences and Research, Bangalore where he presently serves. Currently as an Assistant Professor, Dr. Ahmed is independently in charge of the administrative responsibility of out-patient clinics, admitting patients on his call day and guiding DM students in their thesis and project work. In the out-patient departments he supervises a group of residents that attends to an average of 400 patients per day, assessing, prescribing and monitoring the therapy. In the additional role of a consultant, he executes coronary angioplasties and balloon mitral valvotomies with superlative expertise.

Dr. Ahmed intends to pursue research in Interventional Cardiology in the future while simultaneously keeping in touch with academics.
